If you are looking for a comic that is almost all battle, this is the one for you. There is almost no explanation at all, and the writers assume that you read the rest of the series first. While I understand the necessity of having Ghost Rider, the Fantastic Four, and the rest show up to help ole Spidey out, their appearance is rather flat. They are only in the book to balance out the firepower and don't bring anything unique to the table.

Andrew Zuckerman was born in Washington DC in 1977. After an internship at the International Center of Photography in New York, he attended New York University's School of Visual Arts to study photography and film, and graduated in 1999. His photography and film work has been commissioned extensively for leading international brands and he has received numerous awards. WISDOM, a book, film and traveling exhibition, was launched in October 2008 and is Zuckerman's most ambitious project to date. With the support of Archbishop Desmond Tutu, he travelled the globe to photograph and interview the world's most eminent elders, creating a comprehensive account of their perspectives and an inspirational record to pass down for generations.

About the Author

Greg Perry is a speaker and writer in both the programming and applications sides of computing. He is known for bringing programming topics down to the beginner’s level. Perry has been a programmer and trainer for two decades. He received his first degree in computer science and then earned a Master’s degree in corporate finance. Besides writing, he consults and lectures across the country, including at the acclaimed Software Development programming conferences. Perry is the author of more than 75 other computer books. In his spare time, he gives lectures on traveling in Italy, his second favorite place to be.

Dean Miller is a writer and editor with more than 20 years of experience in both the publishing and licensed consumer product businesses. Over the years, he has created or helped shape a number of bestselling books and series, including Teach Yourself in 21 Days, Teach Yourself in 24 Hours, and the Unleashed series, all from Sams Publishing.

Great Book!!!

I would like to thank the author for doing such a good job with this book. He explains programming concepts clearly and gives example programs to hammer these concepts home. There are 32 chapters and they are short which I really like. There have been some books that ramble for 30+ pages before even a line of code. Not this book, a couple pages at most and then to coding. Programming is very difficult for me and always has been. This book has helped me a great deal. I actually wrote a couple simple programs. I would recommend this book to anyone. I have dabbled with VB, C# and JavaScript. I should have started with C. C is like the parent of the others and the "genetic code" has been passed down to the other languages. If you are a Newbie, start here if you are looking for a simple but full understanding. Good luck!!! Anyone have recommendations as to what the next C book should be? I am very interested in data acquisition and graphing live data.

Good book but Kindle version is horrible

This is a good book for someone looking to learn C from the scratch but the Kindle version of the book is a disappointment and should be avoided. Buy printed book instead. I own the Kindle version and in it to view the code you have to click on the "click here to view code image" link on a lot of pages which takes you to the code. On Kindle for PC one can go back to original reading position by pressing back button after viewing the code but on Kindle for iPad, I couldn't find a way to go back after viewing the code. That resulted in wastage of a lot of time.

Also the kindle version is full of sentences like the following:

"If the or is a prefix, C computes it before anything else on the line. If the or is a postfix, C computes it after everything else on the line finishes. Because the in the preceding code is a prefix."

This sentence has some text missing from it and some of such sentences are not accompanied by "click here to view code image" option and hence such sentences don't make any sense. Looks like no one even bothered to proof-read the Kindle version of this book. Such issues have turned a book deserving 5-star review into one with a 2-star review.

From now onwards I'll think twice before buying a coding book on Kindle.

Clearly written

This is a clearly written introduction to C for people who haven't coded before. If you're a newbie to coding and mention of pointers has you breaking out in a cold sweat, then I'd recommend this book. If you're looking for something a bit more sophisticated, something that covers things like pointers to functions and linked lists, look elsewhere -- my favorites are Kochan's "Programming in C" and Horton's "Beginning C."

Having recently started trading Forex, I have been avidly devouring as many books as I can to increase my toolkit. Some are good, some are bad and some are downright ugly, but “Secrets of High-Yield Currency Trading” by Edward Mellar has been a revelation.

This is the perfect book to bridge the gap between beginners’ guide and technical manual. It deals with the fundamentals thoroughly but what I really liked was the fact that it presents you with good, solid strategies for successful trading and focuses on furnishing you with real techniques for dealing with real life situations.

It is written in easy-to-understand language while providing advanced strategies to help you analyze technical data. Edward is an analyst to the core but he manages to make the complicated area of fundamental analysis easy to comprehend, and provides some good, solid techniques in clear and concise language.

Edward has a solid trading background and is not afraid to share his lows as well as his highs. He includes lots of useful information about how to avoid traps and scams and there is a large section on risk management.

This is an easy-to-follow guide that I will be referring to for some time to help steer me through the maze of currency trading.

All in all, a superb bible for any Forex trader, from beginner to pro. Written by an independent currency trader, forex market expert and author of the six trading books.

Really helpful book

Liked this book - written really well and is easy to read. Wish I read it some time ago. Found information there on subjects I could not understand before (I had read many currency trading books and attended trading seminars that cost $$$$). If you have lost money trading forex, you can understand why by reading the book. The author seems to have a real experience trading currency and surprisingly does try to sell anything. The specific trading techniques described in the book are straightforward and easy to understand. Liked the part about managing risk - found information there I could not find anywhere else.

Best UMTS book yet

I've been to a few training courses presented by Chris Johnson. This book provides a good reflection of his knowledge and clear presentation style. I like the way that a lot of the descriptions are based upon following the flow of data through the protocol stack. There are some good examples of what happens to the speech and data service bits as they are passed between layers. I like the tables which illustrate how the number of bits change during each phase of physical layer processing. This is shown for DCH as well as HSDPA and HSUPA connections. Some parts of the radio network planning sections are similar to those found in other books but there are sections which do not appear elsewhere, e.g. analysis of maximum neighbour list lengths. Link budgets are also presented and described in depth.

Book has clear explanations on topics it deals with. Especially, the summary parts at the beginning of each chapter are very useful to revise and remember the topics covered in a short way.

I found the log files in "Signalling Procedures" section very useful. Also the flow charts are clear and helps you to understand the theory.

I use this book as a reference book on topics I would like to cover as well as a reading book for free times since no in depth mathematical concepts are dealed in it.

And they are applicable on a global basis.

The study identifies three spheres of communication excellence. These spheres consider the overall function and role of communication in organizations, and define the organization of this book. They are:
* the core or inner sphere of communication excellence -- the knowledge base of the communication department,
* the shared expectations of top communicators and senior managers about the function and role of communication, and
* the organization's culture -- the larger context that either nurtures or impedes communication excellence.

Great book, especially for non-programmer beginners

I strongly recommend this book. Well written with complete code, a strong tour of Processing and its wider ecosystem. The only caveat I would add is that if you have any programming/computer science background, a lot of this will be non-applicable to you and you'll skim through about 60% of the book to pick up the Processing-specific syntax.

Best practical book on the supernatural

Amazing book on the supernatural power of God from my spiritual father, Apostle Guillermo Maldonado. Everything in this book is 100% true, real, and proven steps to walk in God's supernatural power. I will advise you one thing though, PRACTICE what is written here. Don't just read about praying for the sick and then say "wow, what a great point! How amazing! Praise God!". NO! Grab a person you know or go up to someone in the street with a limp, wheel chair, or walking cane and tell them "hey, is it ok if I pray for you? I know that God can heal you!" Practice what's in there, forget about how anointed you "think" you are or maybe you don't think that God can use you at all. Just DO IT! Listen to Nike :) God bless you, and read this book, and practice what's in there.
