Jonathan H. Turner is a professor of sociology at the University of California at Riverside. He is the author of numerous journal articles, and over twenty-five books, such as Oppression: A Sociohistory of Black-White relations, American Society: Problems of Structure, Social Problems in America, and Inequality: Privilege & Poverty in America.
Adalberto Aguirre, Jr., is professor of sociology at the University of California at Riverside. He is the author many articles in professional journals. Had to get the book for a summer class, but over all it was a great read. It was pretty easy to read, as as easy to understand. Which was great since this was an online class. I would read this again on my own.

Never learned this in high school

GREAT GREAT BOOK! This book has taught me so much about the different ethnicities I feel like I was learning it for the first time. Opens your eyes to the many injustices minorities continue to face today that they faced 200 years ago. I rented this book, but I may purchase it in the future. Definitely recommend this one.
